Frequently Asked Questions

Tunnelscan Basic covers management, analysis and reporting of point clouds, with automated sync to Navigator Tablet. Tunnelscan Plus adds more analysis types and advanced export.

Line scan, Blasting round scan, Layer thickness, Undulation and High resolution image.

The ASCII import wizard, plus ZFS, PTS, FLS, PCD, LAS/LAZ, RTC360, CLR and E57. Since 2.27 point clouds of up to 700 million points can be imported.

Instrument resection, APM, B+W checkerboard (manual and automatic), spheres and cloud-to-cloud. Which ones apply depends on the scanner and capture software; plain E57/LAS/PTS/ASCII files allow cloud-to-cloud only.

Scans of successive excavation steps are merged automatically, without manual masking, using only the relevant part of each scan, into one complete measured model of the tunnel.

Evenness control of the shotcrete surface before the waterproofing membrane is installed. It finds problem areas such as protruding rebar, steel girders or rock bolt heads.

With interpolation in the Blasting round scan settings: "From design" uses design points; "From measurements" interpolates linearly from neighbours, within set longitudinal and lateral distances.

A georeferenced image from the point cloud, with gaps filled by interpolated colours, usable in Amberg Inspection or other programs.

Topcon GTL-1200, Topcon CR-P1 and the Z+F 5024 series. Release 2.29 added a "Go to stationing" option in all scanning analyses.
