Amberg Structural Deformation is a powerful office software for analysing and reporting deformations in segmental tunnel linings, with a particular focus on ovality (out-of-roundness).

The module simplifies ovality assessment from as-built profiles, supporting both laser scanning and total station workflows. It performs ovalisation assessments in accordance with International Tunnelling Association (ITA) guidelines and can be used as a standalone tool or integrated with Amberg Profile and Tunnelscan for a complete tunnel solution.

Module Overview

Amberg Structural Deformation provides tools for aligning with design specifications and supporting ongoing maintenance needs. Key functionalities include:

  • Ovalisation Analysis: Use best-fit ellipse and circle fittings to assess segment ring deformations. Measure horizontal, vertical, and diagonal inner diameters from the best-fit centre.
  • Wriggle Surveys: Calculate the as-built centre of each profile to identify alignment deviations.
  • Clearance Analysis: Evaluate horizontal and vertical clearances from the design centreline for railway tunnel fit-out.
  • Precise Outlier Detection: Filter non-tunnel wall points automatically for accurate geometric calculations.
  • Deformation Tracking: Compare geometric parameters of segmental rings over time.
