The last week of November was characterised by three trade fairs, which all took place almost simultaneously. This was not only a challenge for the organisation, but also an opportunity to present Amberg's expertise to an international audience. Our report about the highlights of the BIM World in Munich, the STUVA-Expo in Frankfurt and the Mass-Trans Innovation in Japan shows that Amberg combines international experience, digital innovation and many years of know-how in a unique way. 

The BIM World in Munich was all about innovative BIM solutions, construction IT and new IoT technologies. There is no question that these technologies will fundamentally change the construction and real estate industry and our cities. The workshop "Why digitalize the underground space? The use of RetroBIM for infrastructure projects" skilfully added the underground dimension to the BIM theme. The numerous participants intensively discussed with Inga-Leena Schwager, Magdalena Stelzer and Michael Buri how the so-called "invisible" space, i.e. the negative volumes of an existing city, can be used.

Philipp Dohmen, Project Leader Digitalisation at Amberg, explained in his lecture how to use well-structured file types for infrastructure projects.
 

The exhibition of the STUVA (Studiengesellschaft für Tunnel und Verkehrsanlagen e. V.) took place this year in Frankfurt. Amberg was present with a large team of experienced engineers, project managers and surveyors. 

Highlight of the two-day event was the honouring of Felix Amberg, President of the Amberg Group. He was awarded the STUVA prize for remarkable innovations in the field of underground construction. 

Paul Erdmann held at forum of the tunnel and infrastructure industry a much-acclaimed presentation on the Engelberg Base Tunnel project. The complexity of the upgrading of the inner shell by a fundamental change of the load transfer in the swelling mountains proves the high level of expertise that the Amberg Group has at its disposal.
 

The third event took place in Japan. At Mass-Trans Innovation in Chiba, the railway industry presented new products and innovations. It offers international exchange in the for Amberg important Asian market. Regional Manager Stefan Graf was present together with the distribution partner Nepro Co. Ltd. at the joint stand. Amberg showed trolleys for railway surveying as well as software solutions such as Tunnel Inspection. The Tunnel Seismic Prediction Systems from Amberg were also on display at the trade fair. 

We were also allowed to exhibit a poster in the Swiss Pavilion and had the opportunity to attend a reception at the Swiss Embassy in Tokyo.
