Amberg Tunnel Inspection is a comprehensive image-based tunnel inspection platform for planning, managing, capturing, and reporting on visual tunnel surface conditions. The solution comprises a desktop project authoring tool and a synchronised web-based inspection application.

Desktop application

With the desktop authoring tool, you can define the project structure, prepare background tunnel surface images, and define the feature/defect catalogue.

Web application

The connected web application allows you to digitise point, line, and area defects on tunnel surface images. You can compare inspections over time, produce reports, and involve stakeholders using different user roles and permissions.

Managing inspection data for periodic tunnel inspections: importing, processing and analysing it, with tight synchronisation to Amberg Tunnel Cloud for sharing and delivery to the customer.

Yes. Besides tunnels, the inspection workflow can also be used for bridges, roads, airport runways and tanks.

Inspection fieldwork and final evaluation are done block by block, and zoom in Amberg Tunnel Cloud is based on blocks. Blocks are normally about 10 m long but can be changed.

The list of features to inspect, organised in groups. Each feature has a geometry type (point, line or area) and style settings. Catalogs export and import between projects, keeping inspections consistent.

Images (georeferenced backgrounds), inspection drawings, inspection classes and inspection files (e.g. photos taken on site), plus a validation date.

JPG, PNG, GIF and TIFF. Images without georeferencing are placed with a wizard using derolment from/to, starting chainage and chainage interval, with optional rotation.

In Amberg Tunnel Cloud, where several users can work at the same time. The office software only shows feature statistics; drawings can be imported or exported as GeoJSON.

Manually by inspection experts, per block and for the whole tunnel, on a scale of 1 (best) to 5 (very bad).

Exports (DXF, numeric CSV), Maps (Map view, Maps overlay, Maps side by side) and Statistics (by blocks, for tunnel). Results are viewed only in Amberg Tunnel Cloud.
